When I first moved to San Francisco, A Different Lights bookstore on Castro Street was an all-purpose queer space. I miss the cruising over books and the nightly events that brought the community together. As a drag queen writer, it’s my duty to bring people back to bookstores. I’m going to do it with drag queens reading the most risque, stupid, and gagging bedtime stories. Think Penthouse letters. And J.K. Rowling’s fan fictions featuring Trans characters. Hopefully a little Carrie Bradshaw.
